Tools of the trade
Knowing that most players are naturally curious about what gear others use, and why, I have listed my current instruments, along with a few notes about what they get used for.
Fylde Custom Goodfellow
This is my main guitar for fingerstyle, due to it's diminutive 00-sized body, and strong mid-range frequencies. The back and sides are of Cuban Mahogany and the top is Englemann Spruce. It's fitted with a Headway FEQ undersaddle pickup.

Fylde Custom Falstaff
This guitar is particular good for flatpicking and strumming duties, as well dropped tunings which is helped by having a longer scale length than the Goodfellow. Brazilian Rosewood back and sides with an Englemann Spruce top. Also fitted with a Headway FEQ pickup.
1983 Fender USA Standard Telecaster
This was my 18th birthday present, and is nearly as old as me! It has nice big frets and a comfy C-profile neck, typical of 80's Teles.
Freshman FJ2 Archtop Jazz Guitar
This is for the occassional bit of jazz therapy - the odd moment reading some standards, just for fun. Having been looking for a nice archtop for some time, I snapped up this bargain!
Paul Hathway Long Scale Bouzouki
A nice full-sounding bouzouki, for accompanying traditional tunes. Spruce top with Mahogany body, and Fishman Rare Earth Blend soundhole pick-up. The two lower courses are tuned to octaves, rather than unisons, for that chorusing effect.
Michael Kelly F-style Mandolin
I've always loved the shape of the F-style bluegrass mandolin, and this one has a nice satin-finish to boot. Plenty of volume makes it great for tune sessions!
Pedalboard
My current pedalboard - a combined acoustic and electric board to save floor space, using the two inputs on the Radial Tonebone PZ-Pre (top right) for acoustic and electric guitar, and using the EH Switchblade A-B box (top left) to toggle between my electric amp (Fender '65 Deluxe Reverb) and acoustic amp (AER Compact 60).
